The property has approximately 2.5 acres of an heirloom “Hardyblue” Blueberries (also known as 13-16’s) located on the eastern half of the house. They are large bushes and have been productive. These berries are sweet and uniform and produce a beautiful leaf change sought after in the florist trade.
We have an acre and a quarter of the Reka variety. It is a smaller variety good for you-pick. They are a slightly tart, flavorful berry. They occupy the “West Field.”
Also in the West field, there are 6 rows of Collins blueberries. These rows are on the far West side of the West Field. They are a large flavorful berry and good for you-pick.
We have a half acre of heirloom Rubel Blueberries. These are a small berry and high in phytonutrients. These Rubs are one strain away from being wild.
There are almost 2 acres of Beaked Hazelnuts that were planted in 2017. A majority of these three year old hazelnuts are just reaching maturity. Interspersed within the Hazelnut trees are Crabapple trees: these were planted to provide shade for the Hazelnut trees.
